About Summer Rain Farm
Welcome to our little slice of heaven
Summer Rain Farm is nestled on five peaceful acres in Mapleton township, Ontario, a place we’ve called home since 2008. My husband and I and our daughter first moved here with a simple dream, to bring our two horses home from boarding and enjoy a quieter country life. What we didn’t realize at the time was just how much that dream would grow.
As we got to know the land, with the help of our grown sons, we leaned fully into country living. We raised laying hens for fresh eggs and, over the years, added pigs, turkeys, and meat chickens to help fill our freezers each fall. Our large vegetable garden became a seasonal staple, and we planted an orchard and a small vineyard to enjoy the fruits of our labour.
We also began surrounding ourselves with beauty, planting perennial shrubs and flowers like elderberry, lilacs, roses, and ninebark. In 2015, I took a university course in beekeeping, which brought another layer of life and purpose to the farm. Our bees have been busy ever since, producing the delicious honey we’re proud to share.
All of this has kept us wonderfully busy over the years, but in 2024, as I turned 60, a new dream began to take shape.

Hi, I’m Michelle.
Summer Rain Farm as you see it today grew from a desire for something creative, something that combined my love of growing with the joy of sharing beauty with others. I had always loved working with plants (something I’ve been doing since 1990), but I found myself drawn to flowers in a new way. I dove into learning about growing cut flowers and designing bouquets, and before long, everything started to come together.
Our farmstand became the heart of it all.
From Mother’s Day through Thanksgiving, we keep it stocked with fresh market bouquets, jars of golden honey, and farm-fresh eggs. The flowers are what catch your eye, but everything we offer is a reflection of the care and passion our family put into this farm.
For me, the process is just as meaningful as the final bouquet. Growing the plants connects me to the rhythm of the seasons. Harvesting is peaceful and grounding. Letting the flowers rest and condition overnight, then designing with them in the morning, it’s where creativity really comes to life. And seeing those finished bouquets, waiting to brighten someone’s table or be gifted to a friend… that never gets old.
